I recently purchased a cookbook that listed this type of enameled cast iron saucepan in its recommended kitchen equipment section. I have always loved Le Creuset cookware and, in fact, own one each of their small and large dutch ovens as well as a shallow roasting pan and count them among my favorite pieces of cookware. This little saucepan is right up there. First of all, it is a beautiful blue color - lovely to behold (I'm an artist - these things matter!) and the feel of it is that of great quality - it has a wonderful heft to it, and the lid is very well fitted. The design is thoughtful - a wonderful little rim opposite the handle for balance, and to my great surprise, ingredients don't drip down the edge of the pot when poured - not one bit! It has a well designed rim that prohibits that...I've never had a saucepan that didn't drip a little of something down the side. I own many pieces of All Clad LTD, including a little saucepan of the same size, but I wanted an enameled cast iron piece like this one. I'm definitely impressed with this Le Creuset Saucepan!
