Rum Cake

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 package butter cake mix
  • 1 package (3.4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • ⅓ cup light rum
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs

Rum Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light rum
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • ¼ cup water

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together cake mix, instant pudding, rum, water, oil, and eggs. Pour into a greased Bundt pan.
  • Bake for 55 - 60 minutes on the center rack.
  • In a small saucepan, mix sugar, additional light rum, butter or margarine, and water. Boil for l minute. Keep warm.
  • Remove cake from the oven. Leave in Bundt pan and pour rum glaze directly over the cake.
  • Let cool 60 - 90 minutes. Turn upside down onto a plate.
