What to Expect During a Commercial Kitchen Install

Published on: August 13, 2025

Opening day isn’t just about the food. It’s about whether your back-of-house runs like a well-oiled machine, or a construction zone with burners.

At Mission, we’ve handled thousands of commercial kitchen installs across Texas and beyond. We know the pressure. The timelines. The permits. The last-minute curveballs. That’s why we’re walking you through what to expect, step by step, so there are no surprises when the truck pulls up.

Before the Truck Arrives: Pre-Install Planning

The Site Walk

Every commercial kitchen install starts with a walk-through. This is where we get eyes on the space, verify dimensions, check utilities, and flag anything that could slow down the install.

What we’re looking for:

  • Door clearances and pathways for large equipment
  • Confirmed gas, electrical, and water hookups
  • Wall and floor readiness (tile, backsplashes, etc.)
  • Ventilation and hood infrastructure

We don’t just check boxes, we solve problems before they happen. That’s the difference between installing equipment and installing a working kitchen.

Day One of Install: Delivery, Staging, and Prep

Coordinated Drop-Off

Here’s where timing really matters. Our in-house delivery team coordinates directly with your project lead to ensure equipment shows up exactly when the space is ready, not too early, not too late.

Why that matters:
No storage headaches. No damage risk. No chaos.

Staging the Gear

Once it’s on-site, we stage all the equipment in order of installation. That means fryers and ovens don’t crowd the space while plumbing or hoods are being finalized. Every move is calculated.

The Install Phase: It’s Go Time

Anchoring, Hookups, and Final Placement

Our team gets to work placing, leveling, and anchoring each piece of equipment. Then come the connections: gas, water, electric each one handled by certified pros.

Everything moves together, in sync. The same team that designs your layout is involved through fabrication, delivery, and install. One team. One vision. Fewer handoffs. That’s how Mission works.

Testing and Safety

Before we sign off, every piece of equipment gets powered on and stress-tested.

Post-Install: Final Checks and Training

Walkthrough and Punch List

You and your Mission lead will walk the space together. We double-check alignment, clean surfaces, label breaker panels, every detail matters.

We also note anything you want adjusted, and knock it out immediately. No back-and-forth emails or open loops. It’s all handled before we leave.
