Steph Steele is a long-time grocer and owner of Tiny Grocer in Austin, Texas. Tiny Grocer, at 1,800 square feet, is "a complete shop in a very small space," says Steph.
The store offers fresh bread, produce, flowers, a deli that makes food, and they have coffee brewing.
She opened another location in Austin. She calls it, "expanding the dream." The newer location offers something different: a restaurant called Bureau de Poste.
Monday through friday in the mornings and afternoons, it functions with normal deli food operations. But later in the day, the deli becomes a French bistro serving Parisian dishes and brunch on the weekends.
Steph started working with Mission when she was at a different restaurant group. At the time, she needed a lot of equipment, and she connected with a salesperson at Mission Restaurant Supply.
As time went on, Steph was now ready to run her own business. She reached out to that same salesperson and got things going for the first Tiny Grocer.
They sat and went over the plans and equipment needs. Mission even connected Steph to someone who helped with financing.
"And so," says Steph, "I just feel like it's been a really symbiotic, helpful relationship between us, and I've appreciated it."
