Reports To: Shop Manager

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on different types of metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Assemble and fabricate metal parts and structures according to blueprints and specifications
- Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
- Inspect welds and finished products for accuracy, strength, and adherence to specifications; Perform necessary adjustments or rework to meet quality standards.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, including welding machines and cutting torches; Ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions or safety concerns
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection
- Adhere to safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a welder in a fabrication shop or similar environment
- Hands-on experience with various welding techniques and metalworking equipment
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions
- Must be dependable, punctual and possess an excellent work ethic
- Must be comfortable working in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational training or certification in metalworking or a related field is a plus
- Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME)
