Jywon Young, in the industry for 17 years, is one of the owners of The Mad Hatter Neighborhood Pub in Richardson, Texas.

They started as a neighborhood pub, a place to get away from it all, to hang out, to have conversations with others. "That's what we're here for," says Jywon. "That's what we've done for the past ten years, actually, and people love it!"

Mad Hatter Neighborhood Pub has two locations: one in Richardson and another in Fort Worth. They also have The Rabbit Hole Pub in Fort Worth, which grew from their intimate bar.

As a pub-style bar for the local community, they serve food, offer family-friendly events, and the people love it!

For someone starting in the foodservice industry, Jywon advises to love what you do, to have a thick skin, and to have fun.

"A mentor taught me this," he offers. "You're a Shakesperean actor. What you put into it, is what helps you grow."

The Mad Hatter Neighborhood Pub has been in business for ten years, and their Mission representative has helped them with equipment, sinks, and most recently tables.

"You guys answer the phone. You don't just beat around the bush," says Jywon. "It's a: Hey, what can I do for you and I'm going to do everything I can to help."
